Reporting to the Principal of the Elementary School, the Vice-Principal will assist the Principal in the general organization and management of the School as assigned. Summary of Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate safety planning and alignment in accordance with MOE and BQA regulations for Private Schools with the Health & Safety Officer and the Secondary Vice Principal.
  • Plan safety evacuations and manage debrief sessions after each evacuation.
  • Review & update the Student/Parent Handbook each spring with the ECC Principal and Middle/High School VP.

PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT

  • Observe employee performance, record observations, and conduct evaluation conferences.
  • Serve as appraiser for the designated teacher appraisal system.
  • Manage all appraisals for Teacher Assistants and Shadow teachers.
  • Assist Principal in interviewing, selecting, and orienting new staff.
  • Arrange for the substitution of absent teachers and support staff as needed.
  • Collaborate with ASB HR and follow Staff Attendance Policy

ADMINISTRATION AND FISCAL/FACILITIES MANAGEMENT

  • Supervise operations in Principal’s absence.
  • Help plan daily school activities by participating in the development of class schedules, teacher assignments, substitute teacher coverage, and extracurricular activity schedules.
  • Supervise reporting and monitoring of student attendance in coordination with ASB Attendance Policy and work with secretary on follow-up.
  • Work with teachers to compile annual budget requests based on Esol ordering platform.
  • Requisition supplies, textbooks, and equipment; check inventory; maintain records; and verify receipts for materials.
  • Assist with safety inspections and emergency practice activities.
