About The School : An Introduction
AL Mahd Day Boarding School (AMDBS) began in October 1997 with 40 students and two villas. Today we have three full-fledged campuses in Saar, Samaheej and East Riffa and over 2500 students. In 2004, the school was awarded International Center Status by Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), of Cambridge University, which is one of the world’s leading providers of educational qualifications and assessments. This status reflects the quality of teaching and the high standards of administration demonstrated throughout the school.
We believe that such quality education should be affordable. Therein lays the charm of Al Mahd. However, no introduction can provide a complete picture of our school. The aim of education at Al Mahd is to promote a balanced development of our children through a well-structured curriculum and healthy environment.
We also believe that education is not just about acquiring knowledge but about all round development of the child. A complete education should enable a child:
- To distinguish between right and wrong.
- To think logically and take sound decisions.
- To have a reasonably wide general knowledge of the world.
- To express himself clearly, in speech or in writing, in more than one language.
