AL WISAM SCHOOL BAHRAIN

About The School

Al Wisam School is an independent, co-educational private school established in Bahrain in September 2004. The school is located in Budaiya, serves a diverse community of students and staff from different nationalities.

The school aims to provide a balanced education within a supportive bilingual environment. Its educational approach combines academic development with student wellbeing, creativity, personal responsibility and the wider skills required for life beyond school.

Al Wisam places importance on providing a safe, innovative and stimulating learning environment in which students are encouraged to reach their academic and personal potential. The school also promotes digital citizenship, lifelong learning and social responsibility as part of its preparation for the future.

Bahraini culture, heritage and values are incorporated into school life, while students are also encouraged to develop an international outlook and an appreciation of different perspectives. The school’s stated graduate profile focuses on developing learners who are knowledgeable, reflective, communicative, principled, open-minded and confident in approaching new challenges.

Since its establishment, Al Wisam School has expanded its academic provision and facilities while maintaining its focus on accessible British-style education within Bahrain’s private education sector.

School Academics

Al Wisam School provides education for students approximately 3 to 18 years of age. The school’s current website outlines academic provision from Year 2 to Year 13, covering the Primary, Middle and High School stages.

The school follows a British curriculum for subjects taught in English, drawing on the Cambridge curriculum framework and Pearson Edexcel programmes. Arabic Language, Islamic Education, Social Studies and Citizenship are taught in line with the Bahrain Ministry of Education curriculum.

In the Primary School, students develop foundations in English, Mathematics and Science through the Cambridge curriculum. The programme also includes Arabic, Islamic Education, Social Studies, Art, Physical Education, life skills, ICT and, in selected year groups, German. Teaching aims to develop communication, numeracy, inquiry and the practical application of learning.

Middle School covers Years 7 to 9 and supports students in developing subject knowledge, critical thinking, creativity and the skills needed for secondary study.

In Years 10 and 11, students follow two-year IGCSE programmes. Cambridge syllabi are used for subjects including English, Arabic, ICT, Business Studies and the sciences, while Mathematics follows Pearson Edexcel.

Sixth Form students in Years 12 and 13 progress to AS and A Level courses. These internationally recognised qualifications are designed to prepare students for entry into universities in Bahrain and overseas.

As with any school, the learning experience can vary across classrooms, year groups, and teaching approaches. Bahrain Schools Guide strongly recommends that parents visit the school in person, speak directly with the academic and admissions teams, and observe the learning environment before making an enrolment decision. A school tour remains the most reliable way to understand teaching methods, student support systems, and day-to-day classroom engagement, ensuring the school is the right fit for your child’s individual needs.
