AL RAWABI PRIVATE SCHOOL BAHRAIN

About The School

Al Rawabi Private School was established in Bahrain in 1997, beginning with 25 Kindergarten students in a small villa in Granada Garden. The school later expanded to include the Primary, Intermediate and Secondary stages and is now located across two campuses in Jablat Hebshi.

The school provides a co-educational learning environment for a diverse community of nearly 2,000 students. Its educational philosophy focuses on the balanced development of each learner, including their intellectual, emotional, physical, social, moral and spiritual growth. Teachers are expected to support students as both educators and guides, helping them develop confidence, independence and a positive attitude towards learning.

Al Rawabi Private School has progressively expanded its academic provision since its establishment. The Cambridge IGCSE programme was introduced in 2012, and the school became authorised to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in 2014.

The two school campuses include classrooms, science laboratories, computer hubs, libraries, sports facilities, playgrounds and health clinics. The school also provides security and student support services across its facilities.

Al Rawabi aims to combine academic learning with character development and practical skills, while providing education at a comparatively accessible cost for families in Bahrain.

School Academics

Al Rawabi Private School provides education for students approximately 4 to 18 years of age, from Kindergarten through to Grade 12.

The academic pathway is structured across the Kindergarten, Primary, Intermediate and Secondary stages. Students in Grades 1 to 8 follow the school’s general curriculum, which incorporates Cambridge-based learning alongside subjects required by the Bahrain Ministry of Education. In Grades 9 and 10, students progress to the Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education, commonly known as IGCSE. Students in Grades 11 and 12 may follow the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme or the school’s Grade 12 national pathway.

English is used to teach the main academic subjects, including English, Mathematics, Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Economics, Business Studies, Environmental Science and Computer Science. Arabic, Islamic Education, Social Studies and Citizenship are provided in accordance with national curriculum requirements.

The IGCSE programme offers subjects including English, Mathematics, Arabic, the sciences, Computer Science, Business Studies, Economics, and Art and Design. Students sit Cambridge examinations at the end of Grade 10.

At the senior level, the two-year IB Diploma Programme is designed for students aged 16 to 19 and supports preparation for university study. Grade 12 graduates receive either a certificate ratified by Bahrain’s Ministry of Education or an International Baccalaureate qualification, depending on the pathway completed.

As with any school, the learning experience can vary across classrooms, year groups, and teaching approaches. Bahrain Schools Guide strongly recommends that parents visit the school in person, speak directly with the academic and admissions teams, and observe the learning environment before making an enrolment decision. A school tour remains the most reliable way to understand teaching methods, student support systems, and day-to-day classroom engagement, ensuring the school is the right fit for your child’s individual needs.
