Rainbows For Kids came in to being after Christine Hasan well known in Muharraq as “Mum”, who for over 30 years taught English in her inimitable but highly successful manner to half of Muharraq’s youngsters (and often their parents), acting as Mother Hen to the neighborhood youngsters and organizing trips to events and play centres, found that retirement was not for her.

Along with her daughter Muna Fairooz, better known as a TV presenter & actress, but who had also, as well as running other businesses, worked alongside Christine in childcare from her late teens, they set about creating a new kind of Nursery School in Muharraq that was entirely child centered, encouraged children to be children, not mini adults at such a young age and gave children an opportunity to have a voice and to be listened to..

The basis of their thinking has always been that Rainbows is FOR KIDS. They are what is important and that adults owe them the best possible start on their life adventure. Every year sees all the staff taking courses from International Educational Course Providers to hone their skills, as well as mandatory First Aid etc. Rainbows For Kids takes pride in being child orientated and after being open for more than a decade is still as keen to give children a wonderful opportunity to belong as it was on the first day of opening.
