ABOUT THE CENTRE
Gulf Oasis is an educational consultancy, run by experienced British Council accredited advisors, offering students advice on what, where and how to study. We offer students access to over 450 trusted universities, colleges and schools around the world, including the GCC, UK, Europe, the USA and Australia.
Our team, comprised of educators (including a former university president) and human resources professionals, has worked in British, American and Bahraini universities and organisations, making them best placed to advise on education and future work choices.
The services we provide are FREE of charge to parents and students.
MEET OUR TEAM
Dr Suzanne White - Managing Director
Suzanne has over 35 years of experience in education and in the corporate world. She is the former Campus Dean and President of an American university in Bahrain, was a Senior lecturer in a London university for 7 years and has been advising students on learning and career choices for 20 years.
With a PhD in Education and an MSc in Psychology, Suzanne is well equipped to assist students choose their future careers.
Rachel Gibson - Marketing Manager
Rachel has held positions within the corporate, higher education and voluntary sectors globally. She spent 11 years at the London School of Economics & Political Science (LSE) where she was International Partnerships Manager. In Bahrain, Rachel worked at the British University of Bahrain (BUB) as a Higher Education Consultant where she designed student recruitment and student conversion strategies, devised an applications process, and provided full support to the Board of Trustees.
More recently, with 3 years at Vatel Bahrain as their Student Recruitment & Marketing Communications Manager, Rachel understands students needs and parents concerns.
Paula McManus - Senior Consultant
Paula has over 30 years as an international HR consultant, Organisational Development and Career Management professional. She has worked for many brands in different sectors in many different countries (Walt Disney, Barclays, NBAD, GIB, Black Rock) and brings a wealth of experience to helping students choose careers.
Experienced in recruiting, interviewing and assessing, she adds value to students and parents who need help with future study choices.
OUR SERVICES
We offer help to students and parents when choosing and applying, anywhere in the world to :
- Schools (for GCSE, A levels or IB).
- English language centres.
- Foundation year pathway providers.
- Universities and colleges for undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD courses.
Our assistance includes:
- Giving advice on where to study and which subjects.
- One to one individual career counselling.
- Reviewing documents, including personal statements and CVs.
- Offering workshops for CV writing, personal statement writing, cultural awareness, interview skills (and more!).
- Psychological preparation for life away from home – one to one sessions for concerned students.
- Submitting documents to schools, language centres, colleges and universities, and keeping ahead of deadlines and requirements.
- Advising on next steps with regards to accepting offers, fee payments, accommodation and visas.
We understand that making the right choice can be confusing and overwhelming, We provide assistance with identifying appropriate courses and universities, and we match aptitudes, personalities and objectives to relevant, challenging, and rewarding courses at the best universities globally.
