Future Learning Summit Inspires Educators, Parents, and Students at St Christopher’s School
February 11th, 2025 St Christopher’s School, in partnership with the Council of British International Schools (COBIS), proudly hosted the Future Learning Summit on February 8th and 9th. This event brought together educators, parents, and students to explore the future of education, innovation, and digital transformation in the classroom.
With the generous support of our sponsors, including headline sponsors the National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) and iWorld, the Future Learning Summit provided a unique platform for collaboration and knowledge-sharing. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our sponsors whose contributions made this event possible.
The two-day summit featured an array of engaging workshops and discussions led by experts in the field. Topics ranged from artificial intelligence in education and the impact of digital learning tools to fostering creativity and resilience in students. Attendees participated in hands-on sessions exploring the latest in EdTech, sustainable learning practices, and the evolving role of educators in a rapidly changing world.
It was inspiring to see such a dynamic mix of educators, parents, and students actively engaging in these discussions, exchanging ideas, and envisioning the future of learning. The enthusiasm and collaboration displayed at the event underscored the importance of innovation in education and the commitment of the St Christopher’s community to staying at the forefront of global educational advancements.
The Future Learning Summit 2025 was a two day, face-to-face event in Bahrain connecting students, parents and global educators with thought leaders who are passionate about the future of education. With an ever changing social, economic, and environmental global landscape, children and young people have a lot to navigate in their futures and education is the catalyst for innovation.
With ‘Education for a Shared Humanity’ as our summit theme, we’ll be exploring what it means to be humanly connected in an increasingly technology driven world, and unpacking a range of ideas designed to help children and young people to shape their futures.
While this theme is highly personalised, meaning something different to every delegate, at its heart is the recognition that the interconnectedness between peoples remains important and education has the power to enable this to thrive. During the summit delegates will hear from forward thinking and passionate educators, students and leaders through keynotes and panel discussions, and engage in workshops that will challenge their ideas of education.
The summit follows a series of concept arcs in Sustainability, Technology, Wellbeing and Metacognition. Take a look at these in more detail on our Summit Arcs page, where you will also find information about our Workshops in due course.
INFORMATION FOR
EDUCATORS AND SCHOOL LEADERS
What can I expect from the Future Learning Summit?
The Future of Education Is What We Make It.
Of course, we can’t have conversations that impact young people without them included, so
Day 1 invites students and parents to come together with educators in multi-generational conversations and learning. Do we really know what young people think about our summit arcs? Have we stopped to listen? Throughout Day 1 we’ll hear from the students themselves about the way they view education and what they need from us…and they’ll hear from educators in return. We’ll co-create our next steps as a community.
Day 2 is then focused on educators hearing from other educators and exploring some of the pressing challenges in our quest for future-ready education. Our Leadership Arc also takes place on Day 2.
These are just some of the questions we’ll be tackling:
How do we empower youth to build sustainable change?
What does it mean to be a good Global Citizen?
Are we really nurturing holistic flourishing in our current education system?
How can technology helps us to build meaningful connections?
What does the future of education look like?
What skills do young people need and are we really nurturing them?
