Established in 2006, The International School of Choueifat – Manama (ISC-Manama) is a well-established international school in Bahrain and part of the global SABIS® Network, which has a long-standing presence across multiple countries. ISC-Manama follows the SABIS® Educational System, which places strong emphasis on foundational knowledge, mastery learning, continuous assessment, and regular academic follow-up. The International School of Choueifat – Manama first opened its doors in 2006 to both Bahraini and international students from Kindergarten to Grade 8, adding a new grade level each year until reaching a full Kindergarten to Grade 12 offering. Since then, the school has graduated over 400 students who are leaders, critical thinkers, and conscientious young adults that are committed to contributing positively to society.

ISC-Manama follows the SABIS® Educational System, which emphasizes strong foundations, mastery learning, and continuous assessment. The curriculum spans English, Arabic, mathematics, sciences, social studies, computer studies, world languages, and the arts, with technology and innovation integrated across all levels.
In early years and primary, the focus is on literacy, numeracy, and communication skills. Life Preparation
ISC-Manama students are encouraged to take an active part and make a difference in their school and community. This is achieved through the SABIS® Student Life Organization (SLO), which is a student-led mini-society that is the heart of every SABIS® school and a main pillar of our Educational System.
Through the organization’s nine departments, students organize academic and social events, host games and challenges, plan athletic activities, participate in the Yearbook preparations, explore and showcase new skills, help academic standards, start clubs, raise awareness on important subjects, stand up for important causes, and much more. Our students are especially passionate about their outreach and social responsibility initiatives, which have included beach clean-ups, hosting orphaned children, visiting with the elderly, volunteering with special needs centers, and any activity that helps make a difference in the lives of others.
By taking on this active role, our students learn to take responsibility for their emotional, social, and moral growth as individuals as well as members of the larger Bahraini community. The real-life experiences students are exposed to help foster their personal development as well as provide them with a platform to acquire and refine skills, attitudes, and attributes that give them a huge advantage in university and beyond.
Self-Development
At ISC-Manama, we believe that student engagement in a multitude of activities is important for their well-being and for their development. In line with this belief, we encourage and celebrate our students’ participation and achievements in all extracurricular domains such as sports, music, drama, and the arts.
Sports represent an integral part of the ISC-Manama school experience. From afterschool sports activities and family events to international competitions and summer camps, ISC-Manama offers opportunities for young athletes at all skill levels. Our students get to develop their talents and perfect their techniques using our state-of-the-art sports facilities, which include a semi-Olympic-sized swimming pool, a very large and well-equipped sports hall, various full-sized indoor and outdoor courts, and a soccer field surrounded by a running track.
Beyond sports, ISC-Manama offers a variety of enriching clubs and activities, through which students learn many new skills, challenge themselves, and have lots of fun. Activities include arts and crafts, ballet, chess, choir, dance, debating, drama, film, IT, science, and many more. Our music, theater, and arts program allow students to explore their talents and develop important life skills.

ISC-Manama is a member of the renowned, global SABIS® Network, which dates back to 1886 when the first International School of Choueifat was founded in the village of Choueifat, a suburb of Beirut, Lebanon. Guided by a clear set of core values and an unwavering commitment to creating a better world through education, in 1975, SABIS® began their expansion program outside Lebanon and opened their first school in the U.A.E.
