ASIAN SCHOOL BAHRAIN

About The School

The Asian School Bahrain is a private, secular and co-educational school established in the Kingdom of Bahrain in 1983. The school officially opened on 11 May 1983, beginning as The Asian Kindergarten with 65 students and three teachers. It is currently located on a 10.75-acre campus in Tubli.

The school has expanded progressively since its establishment, gaining recognition at the Primary level in 1989, affiliation at the Secondary level in 1992 and Senior Secondary status in 2017. Today, it serves around 4,600 students from Kindergarten to Grade 12.

The Asian School aims to provide an accessible learning environment that combines academic development with personal values, responsibility and independence. Its educational approach encourages students to develop confidence, integrity, care for others and a commitment to lifelong learning.

The Tubli campus includes modern classrooms, science and computer laboratories, a library, sports grounds, indoor sports facilities and the Dr. Abdul Kalam Memorial Auditorium. Student wellbeing is supported through counselling rooms, health clinics and dedicated pastoral services.

School Academics

The Asian School Bahrain provides education for students approximately 4 to 18 years of age, from Lower Kindergarten and Higher Kindergarten through to Grade 12. Children applying to Lower Kindergarten must normally have completed four years of age by 31 December of the admission year.

The school follows the Central Board of Secondary Education curriculum, commonly known as CBSE, which is administered from New Delhi, India. English is the main language of instruction, alongside Hindi, Arabic and other language options depending on the grade level. Islamic Studies is compulsory for Muslim students, while Moral Science or Value Education is provided for other learners.

The Kindergarten programme uses play-based activities to support early language, mathematical, creative, social and physical development. In Grades 1 to 5, students build foundations in English, Mathematics, Environmental Studies, Computer Science and wider learning areas.

Grades 6 to 8 introduce more specialised study in Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, languages and technology. Students in Grades 9 and 10 prepare for the CBSE All India Secondary School Examination.

In Grades 11 and 12, students select from Science, Commerce and Humanities subject combinations. At the end of Grade 12, students sit the CBSE All India Senior School Certificate Examination.
