About The School

Bahrain Indian School is a private, co-educational school established in the Kingdom of Bahrain in April 2014. The school is located in Abu Saiba, Budaiya, and is approved by Bahrain’s Ministry of Education.

The school forms part of Bhavans Middle East, an educational network associated with Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, India. It was established to provide families in Bahrain with access to an Indian curriculum education supported by the academic traditions and educational experience of the wider Bhavans group.

The school provides opportunities for students to participate in classroom learning, sports, games, creative activities and wider co-curricular programmes. Its stated vision is to prepare students as global citizens who can provide leadership in the future.

School Academics

Bahrain Indian School provides education for students approximately 3 to 18 years of age. The school offers Pre-KG, KG1 and KG2, followed by Grades 1 to 12 across the Primary, Middle, Secondary and Senior Secondary stages.

The school follows the Central Board of Secondary Education curriculum, commonly known as CBSE, based in New Delhi, India. The curriculum is supported by NCERT learning frameworks and is delivered alongside subjects required by Bahrain’s Ministry of Education.

In Kindergarten, children learn through an integrated thematic approach that supports early communication, language, literacy, numeracy, creativity and social development. Activities are designed to encourage independence, curiosity and confidence while preparing children for Primary School.

At the Primary level, the school uses thematic and project-based learning to connect subjects and encourage students to apply their knowledge. Core learning areas include English, Mathematics, Science or Environmental Studies, Social Studies, Computer Science and languages.

As students progress through Middle and Secondary School, the curriculum becomes increasingly subject-focused. Grades 9 and 10 prepare students for the CBSE Secondary School examination.

In Grades 11 and 12, students enter the Senior Secondary stage and follow selected subject combinations leading to the CBSE All India Senior School Certificate Examination. The academic programme is complemented by co-curricular activities, sports, life skills and value-based learning.
